WPG: July - Teaser Trailer

Propulating Interiors

At this stage in Development I was finishing off populating the interiors of the buildings in the vertical slice. The images below show some of the results of that process at the stage prior to lighting the scene.

Vertical Slice

When lighting had finished building on production quality I took a few high res screen shots of the harbor. At this point I was very happy with what I had created in the space of time. I knew it would need more work but for the teaser trailer It was sufficient. Check out the High Res shots below!

Teaser Trailer

With the Vertical Slice done we all high tailed it to Pete's pace to create and render the Teaser Trailer! You can watch it bellow. To date the video has 18,819 views on youtube. Probably 15,000 are me.

It was a strange moment for the White Paper Team, it was like sending your child off to school for the first time. Reading about our own game was cool, the negative and positives. It all goes to help us create a better gaming experience.

For me to hear gaming journalists talk about the art of the game was nice, most of it was positive and  indicated the unique style I had created. Below are a few quotes I have taken from some really popular video game sites.

www.indiegamemag.com

'Every once in a while a game comes along that hits you with a vivid art style and intriguing design at a hundred miles per hour.'

Wesley Copeland

www.destructoid.com

'From what they've shown us so far, the art style of Ether is just gorgeous. The rough, dark pen lines on top of the hand-painted textures give the game a surreal quality.'

Some Team Shots

Here are a few pictures taken from that day, none of us look stressed tired or pale from sitting at our computers for months do we?

James likes leaning on things.

Pete loves his Coffee!
